Ordering the specials?

How long till they start chargeing for the water? Nickel and dime you to death. Why don't they just add everything together and forget about the surcharge, gas, and what ever so that there is a flat fee. With all this talk about hidden fees I'm more against buying from on line at all.

You guys need to settle down. You go to a lot of other online live goods stores and you will pay a minimum of $20-40 for shipping...in addition to a surcharge and gas surcharge. Another big store I order from charges a $35 handling fee, and 10% of your total order, plus extra fees for extra boxes. I can't believe you'd complain about swf prices.
The extra fees are still less than what local stores charge. I can't believe I got a yellow tang for $1.99 here, my lfs sells them for $20+.

The only part I dont like is that it is a $79 order but after the other charges you looking at $90 plus. Why don't they just say $90 handles all hiden costs instead of the $79 plus this and plus this thats a turn off for me. I'm not trying to complain but when my wife found out about the speacials and a minimum purchase is $79 worth of stuff but then I mentioned about the other charges she said no because it is more then what they advertise for. I just hope that in the future if they read this they may keep this in mind and consider adding it all together. I know that other online places do charge outragous prices and the lfs have to make there money some how. But how often do you see a yellow tang for $1.99 on this site. I have been waiting for the feather dusters to go on sale for $1.99 but still haven't seen it. But when they do I will place 1 order of just those feather dusters cause here they sell for $15 a peice and you can place as many or place them any where in your tank.
Oh jag sry not upset with this site or anything it is just when I got my old lady to agree on buying something on line then something comes up and this time it was all the hidden costs. We have never order anything from this site yet but I will still try but I have to convince that it is a good deal with my wife. Trust me thats hard my wife is a hard head. Love her and all but when it come to what needs what she gets frazzled.

Im glad they offer a free shipping charge, even if you have to buy more. You are probably spending less even with the shipping and the other costs compared to buying at a LPS. LPS have to charge so much because the shipping is outragous and they'd be losing money if they sold them for the price that SWF.com does. The extra prices still do suck, but at least they dont charge shipping for bigger orders which can be almost as much as the fish themselves.

I'm with Snipe on this one. This is a bulletin board in which I'm free to express my calm opinion. My only complaints are that they advertise free shipping, but then hit you with other charges. The other complaint would be the minimum order size. I don't need $79 worth of fish added at any one time, I've only got a 55 gallon tank.
I love the site and think they have a lot to offer, in both pets and merchandise.

Yeah and I sympathize with the whole charges things, but it says on their shipping info there are these surcharges. I know it sucks to have to order $79 worth of stuff, and then tack on another $13. But it could be worse.
Guys I didn't mean to sound all wound up. But the gas and surcharge charges are less than other sites and that's why I like to buy from here. Those next day air charges are usually $30+ on other sites, so I kinda like how they eat the cost of that.

Ya I respect everyone that has said something regarding this post, and we all have the right to voice our opinon and yes sometimes we may get carried away but hey.... At least we all have the same interest and we all want to see all of us suceed with it and willing to help others.

I recently ordered from another online company because I didn't want to order 79.00 worth of fish. So I ordered 41.00 and had to pay a flat 24.99 shipping fee. The extra fees are alot but online companies are way cheaper than my LFS's. Plus I get a guarantee online and none of the LFS's give me even a 5 minute guarantee. So I'm sticking with online stores.

I order from the site you are talking about. The 24.99 charge is okay when you figure swf is 11.98 with a mimimum order. I figure out prices here and there and sometimes even with paying the 24.99 charge its cheaper because their prices on fish are cheaper plus the selection is bettter and they ship that day if you order before 10:30. With swf you never know when they'll ship, sometimes it takes a couple days.
