Organisms on Filter material

I pulled out my filter pad in my sump and saw little organisms crawling all over. Looked like little larvae. Is this a good thing or bad? Any idea what they could be? Thanks in advance

Different types of pods, very good thing especially if you have a sandbed. They eat detritus, and are food themselves to many types of fish.
