oriental sweetlips?

does anyone here have any experience with these fish, if so, please let mehear about their carelevel and what not.. please help me out frommaking a mistake or not

rarely make it past a couple months, if that. Would need at least a 180 gallon tank to attempt one... at least IMO.

what is so hard about keeping them? are they just suseptable to disease? have you had past experience with them before? sorry for all the questions, i just dont want to throw away my money

I have had mine for over three years and it is doing great. It eats everything that I put in the tank and is always moving around adding a lot of life to the tank.

on a scale of 1-5 5 being the hardiest it is a 2.juveniles are often difficult to feed and may require live shrimp or black worms to initiate feeding. some will only eat live foods. should be kept with non aggressive tankmates that will not pick on it or snap up all the food.will eat the little organisms in the live sand.

Please do a search using the search button above for "sweetlips." The topic comes up often, but success long term is very rare with them....even by professionals. Also note many, if they do survive, get huge and also less attractive (far less attractive in some cases).
