Where did you get your female? I remember sending a monster order for my A. Ocellaris out to a Long Island reef club.
LIRA?
That would be so neat if I had some of your babies!
I got mine from a local fish store, but there are tank raised, and it's not uncommon for owners of LFS's to buy up things at LIRA sales and then resell them at their store, even though we try to not let them do this. I've had mine for a little over 3 years.

The timing is about right. I think it might have been LIRA. They did a group order of about 500. I wanrned them that on average only about half of my Clownfish turn black. The other half keep a very vibrant orange with prominent black highlights.

Probably LIRA, it's the larger reef club down here, they'd be the ones placing an order that large. There's a few small ones that try to compete, but they don't last long, LOL.
That would be so neat! Now I really wonder if mine could be from you? I wish there was some sort of genetic testing I could do, hahahaha

I had a clutch of very dark Clownfish. I credit it to the Mysid Shrimp I put in a 32 gallon Roughneck one summer that I just left outside in the sun. Must have been the food coloring them up so dark.
