oscars

I have two questions...
I have two @4" oscars in a ten gallon tank and I've recently moved my "algae-eater" (about the same size if not slightly larger) out to another, smaller tank because they weren't "getting along". My first question is what can I put with the oscars to help me keep the tank clean, I was thinking snails and possibly small crabs but I'm afraid that the oscars will try and eat the crabs.
Secondly, my oscars themselves lately haven't been getting along together (not too bad...yet?), one seems to chase the other. I don't know if they are the same --- or not and was thinking that they (or one) might be trying to spawn... but would they turn against each other? I'm concerned that they will get depressed if I separate them, unless this is just what they do when they spawn?

YOU ARE GOING TO NEED TO GO WITH A MUCH BIGGER TANK. THEY DONT MOVE MUCH HOWEVER THEY WILL GET BIGGER. DONT PUT ANY SNAILS OR CRABS IN THE TANK...THEY WILL EAT IT.
THISMAY NOT BE THE BEAT PLACE TO ASK ABOUT FRESH WATER FISH. I HAD 2 MYSELF A LONG TIME AGO. THE MOST BORING FISH IN THE HOBBY. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND COVERTING TO SALTWATER IF YOU DONT ALREADY HAVE A SALT TANK.

Actually Tia Crabs will fight off an oscar if you get a fair sized one or get a large plecatomus also 10 gal is way too small for 2 oscars it realy to small for one oscar they grow fast and will out grow that tank in a matter of months they are also messy eaters

For 2 Oscars, you need a MINIMUM 75 gallon tank. Oscars are very messy and put a heavy bioload on your system. They will also grow to be approx. 12"-14" long and need room to swim. Please, if you can't take care of them, return them to the store. I highly disagree (and so would most Oscar owners) with whoever said that the Oscar is "the most boring fish in the hobby". Just the opposite is true. Oscars are the most interactive, pet-like fish that there are. If you want any info on Oscars, or freshwater fish care, feel free to email me. Take care!

2 oscars in a 10 is most likely causing the agression... Personally, if ur gonna go with freshwater agressives...go with African Cichlids...not south american. just my opinion of course....I'd go get a 55 or bigger though if u want to keep those oscars from killing themselves.
