Actually, the durability comes from the quality whool that is used. We have 2 in our place. One is circa 1900 and one is about 70 years old. I have come across a rug that has absolutely blown my mind. I'll have to get the info on it. All I know is it is 24.5x13. HUGE!! It is over 100 years old and in perfect condition. Choke on this one: the bill?.... B/t 110-150K. It is beautiful though. It has wildlife scenes all over it. A lot of animals, and animals being killed by other animals (Large cats attacking impalas and such). This is considered a very rare rug. I will get the style and what not, and will tell you guys more about it. My fiance's father (who is Persian) owns an oriental/persian rug shop in Alpharetta GA. He has been in the business for over 30 years now. He had a shop in NY but closed it and moved it to GA. If anybody is interested, I can send you pics of almost any rug in inventory. They have em from little rugs around a few hundred bucks to the kind I was just explaining. They sell mostly antique, but they also deal new rugs which are all still handmade and the same great quality, just missing the age. Some people like the modern-looking new rugs, but more people appreciate the older ones. I'm really starting to get interested in the business. These rugs aresome of the best ways to invest your money, unless you have a puppy that likes to chew a lot. They only gain value. As long as you take care of them. So if anybody is interested, I know I could get you a killer deal. A fishkiller deal that is..... lol!!! God I kill me...
