The su
oofer may cause low vibration noise that may make them nervous or shake the tank somewhat.there are low freq effects that are felt not heard.

Mac,
there's a certain city full of circuits thats has some decent prices on speakers. even though its not a competitor i'm not posting a link.
i have the onkyo surround sound system, used to be $400, now almost half that becuase its last years model. i'm very very happy with it, plenty loud for me and excellent during scenes like the beginning to saving private ryan. only drawback is the satellites arent as small as say Bose or JBL's.
using a harmon kardan AVR325 receiver, all the inputs and outputs you could ever need.

For a reciever I recomend the Yahama, we have had ours for about 6 years, top quality and the price isn't to bad.
Best Buy has a 700 watt per channel on sale right now for 799.

You mean 700 total watts right? I don't think there is any reciever that makes 700 wpc.
Anyone heard of PSB speakers?

Small satalite speakers that use 1 speaker such as a tiny midrange or woofer to produce highs and lows will not reproduce sound as nice as a semi-large or bigger speaker system, you want a tweeter not more than 1 inch and a midrange at 4 to 5 inch in diameter{larger woofers always better} to reproduce good sound with the sub handling the lower freq.small speakers{satalite speakers with 1 speaker only} cant reproduce the high and the midrange required for music and movies because the one speaker in the cabinent is too large for the highs and not large enough for the midrange.they look nice but in most cases dont reproduce sound as good, those cube speakers are just too small.

Klipsch speakers are nice, those horn tweeters sound great, i like the sound that they produce.horn disperson tweeters, horn compression drivers, horn tweeters just make a sound that if built right is great for music, live recordings{i think klipsch speakers were made with that idea in mind to produce a live concert in the home} and movies{they are used in movie theaters} although some would say that they sound a little bright but using a warm receiver may neutralize that.best buys will start too sell the synergy line of klipsch in spring but not the more expensive rf referance series line.www.hifi.com as mention before is a very good shop for products and not just low end, they also have the upper or midprice audio video selections as well.
