OT - Anyone here into snakes, too???

Hey all..
I have a baby green tree python.. She is great...
Ive been looking for a good snake message board (like this one, but for snakes and tree pythons)..
Anyone know of any???

I've always wanted a green tree python! I've got a boa constrictor right now, about 6'. Never seen any snake msg boards though... still, I can't say that I've looked...
could you post pics of your python?:)

Ummm I like snakes :D .
There are a couple of real good herp groups on yahoo, Though alot of the people talk about hot ones alot there is still plenty of info and posts on boids and and colubrids. My personal favorites are probably pitouphis (bull, pine, gopher snakes) and elaphae.
Green tree pythons are beautiful animals !! As she gets bigger make sure you build or buy cages that are tall. The more climbing room they have the happier the animal is. I have a friend who built a real nice cage for his male, three half foot tall, three feet wide and 2 feet wide. He used large pieces of baked drift wood to make a lot of climbing space, he then used silk vines you can get from any hobby store to make a lot of cover for him. Auto misting system and a temperature controlled lighting he has a very nice display. You have to work to find him.
My only warnings are keep up the humidity, and do not get bit. Green tree pythons, emerald boas and amazon tree boas have elongated front and lower canines for grabbing prey out of the air and so they can hang on to while they are eating it. A bite from these hurts, a juvi. hurts a lot. An adult … well it hurts a heck of a lot !! They are notorious face biters also as there cages tend to be at face level, so beware.
Have fun and enjoy, you have a very good looking snake there !!

Id try www.kingsnake.com they have GREAT forums. I tried emerald tree boas and killed 2 :( defintely the hardest herp ive tried. Currently i keep monkey tailed skinks, various types of blue tongue skinks, and pink tongue skinks. I have some croc skinks but im selling those...herps are great!

I've got a beautiful albino corn. He's definately the least amount of work out of all my animals.
Keep checking for message board sites. I use cornsnake.com.
It might help if you bought one of the herp magazines and check into some of the advertisers sites. They sometimes have boards there.

Right now the only herps I have are 2 Mojave Desert Tortoises. Until recently I had: 1 Ball Python, 3 Jungle Carpets, 5 Pacific Gopher Snakes, 1 Northern Pine, 1 Corn, 1 Boa, 1 Rattlesnake, 1 Savannah Monitor, 1 Green Iguana. A friend, originally from South Africa, moved here from Tanzania where he had a reptile park. He couldn't import his animals so he needed to start a collection from scratch. With my wife's urging (she never liked the snakes), I sold him everything but the tortoises.

Best of luck! Green tree python's scare me!
I had what was supposedly a rainbow boa for a few months, before it died. Never figured out why.
