...the company comes tomorrow to change over from the slow dial-up to a DSL system.....lookin' forward to the faster speeds. Now I need to convince the wife to let me up-grade the computor!!!Heck I bought her a new car last year...you'd think she could come up with the funds to get a new computor!!

dial VS DSL always go DSL
here itrs cheaper then an extra linf and then the monthly fee for dial up .
I was paying 80+ for dial_up and the extra line so that I could still get a phone call LOL.
when you go looking at computers look at the Emachines ithought they were going to be cheapo made but mine blew up last year and I had to have a puter with little to no money so I got one. and so far its been a great computer and only cost about 350 for the complete setup...

I know it gets hard to get used to at first...before I would take a drink wait for the page to load. Now I don't even have time to drink anything while pics are loading.....well I always make time for a swig or two of Corona:D

Within a few days I'll be changing my e-mail addy & website link....for the next month the old dial-up account is still active...but I do believe the DSL is here to stay!! Best part is its only $10 more than the dial up...the phone line is free for use will surfin...and my personal web space is much....MUCH...larger!!! Can somebody answer me a question?
They tell me I have 300MB of web site viewing ability(hope I explained that right) per month....whats the odds of folks not being able to visit the site(NM Reef)...and whats the odds of ya'all not being able to see pics I post?
Seems to me thats one heack of a lot of ability to let folks peek at stuff on my site....especially since traffic is rather limited...and pics I post are viewed for a relatively short time. Any comment on this 300MB feature....plus the service offers up to 7 individual e-mail accounts...each with personal webspace of 10MB....comments on that. If I'm not mistaken the dial-up website was limited to 3MB of space...but there were no limits on viewing stuff.
Comments from the pros on the sbove stuff?!!?

not sure what that means but 300 MB of veiwing isnt a lot when you consider a good graphic for a pic is about 1 mb so if thats the case someone could view that 1 pic 300 times and your essentially through for the month..
what it might be is that you have 300 MB webspace available to you for use and veiwing you might want to check with the company to find exactly which it is..

NM, ya need to ask them if you have "300 mbs of Storage" or "300 MB of Transfer" the storage would be ok, as long as you are not running a Large MySQL DB. 300 MB of Transfer would not be cool. One of my sites, reefriggers, which is down now, had 500 mb of transfer, and with it not even finished, i hit my mark fast!!
Transfer, just incase u don't know, it every time a client, inet surfer, hits your site, it "transfers" your html code to the client from your server. Once you transfer 300 mb, thats it until next month.
On the emails, are they web based or do they have a "POP". If they have a POP then, you could use Outlook to pull them down and would never be over your limit.

drop me a line, be glad to help ya!:)
