Scott - I saw that list also. Might have missed it on yours but I thought the most interesting thing on it was that to students entering college this year.....the Vietman War is just a part of history like WWII.... now that really made me feel old.
I'm not saying how old I am because well, my birthday is next month and I haven't decided yet...I'm still mulling it over....but I will say this. I have a vivid flash of memory of hearing that a President had gotten shot.....

You know...I don't know what I'd do without the 80's...here I was all excited to find out Keb 'mo is playing a show in town, and I go to the stadium's website and realize ever more importantly Poison is playing a show with Skid Row and Vince Neil as opening acts! :D

Yeah, I saw the war items, but I was trying to keep it sort of light hearted. There are many items that I did not put on the list.

I just turned 16 saturday and I know some of that stuff. Since I was an only child and the youngest of the family. I have always been around adults. My uncle still has an atari. Play it when we go to our ranch. Pong and pacman are great. My dad still has a record play and all of his old records. You would probably be suprised at how much we really know.

Talking about old series, how about Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges, or Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea with Richard Basehart and David Hedison?
It was not Saturday morning unless you watched Tarzan with Johnny Weismiller, or the Lone Ranger.
How about the Man from Uncle, the original Twilight Zone and Outer Limits or Father knows Best. Do you remember these, and we are not talking re-runs... Alfred Hitchcock, Dark Shadows, Lost in Space, Batman with Adam West, Hogan's Heroes, Rawhide, My Favorite Martian, Mr Ed, Dobie Gillis, Marcus Welby, Leave it to Beaver, The Virginian, Bonanza, or Daniel Boone? I really do not remember watching alot of TV in the 50s, so I will just skip those programs.
So many old series, so little time. I remember buying cigarettes for my mother from the vending machine for a quarter, and you got a penny back in the pack! My how times have changed... I can no longer get 8 gallons of gas for less than $2.00
Oh well, enough day dreaming, now back to reality.

How did that ping pong ball always get in Captain Kangaroo's pocket? I was a Mr. Moose man myself. Kelly I don't know if i would have admitted to all of those shows. :p For me it was F-troop and then Munsters every Saturday afternoon. But I think it was reruns.
I was thinking about this thread and I do have to admit that I like Avril Lavinge, some N-sync and the some Back Street Boys so I guess I am not that old.
Tim S Edwards. Where are you. Do you know any of these. Or are you just a P___ K__ :p

I believe he is talking about real world experiance, not things you like doing that pay good money for a rare few. Unless you famouse, or one heck of a studio musician that ain't exactly paying the bills, even vets don't make that much money especially large animal vets(don't believe me ask my wife, she was a vet major for 3 yrs, worked with a vet in Petaluma, after seeing the squat pay compared to time spent at work, she figured out that it was not worth it). Believe me lots of us grown ups have "opened are eyes" to jobs before.

I remember sitting in my third grade class when a man from "NASA" came into our room and told us that next year we were going to land a man on the moon. LAND a man on the MOON? I was so disappointed, my father was an avid sf reader and he had a copy of "Martian Chronicles" by Bradbury that I was trying to work through....I thought we already had bases on Mars...you can imagine my extreme disappointment.

Now I must be really old. I remember the days before tv and when my dad brought our first tv home. only one tv station on Des Moines Iowa then (early 50's) and most had to have large TV antennaes to receive OMAHA Neb. stations (100 miles+distant). Eventually a second ,third, and finally public tv stations started up. Once there was a channel 17 which lasted about a year. Seems only the first 13 channels were on most tv sets back then. Also Johnny carsion and ed mcmann hosted who do you trust on the abc TV network. They turned on ABC each day at 4:30PM. (late50's early 60's) :p

operative word is pay!! It is very easy to say it is not about the money (because it is not) .... BUT - if you want certain things then you have to make sacrifices - so if I wanted to have a decent house - one nice vehicle and have my wife stay home then I can't get away from these corporate soul suckers!!!
