There is a member here- Snakes'n'fish, who keeps a lot of both. He might help....also a lot of the 'aggressive' people are snake people. Will move the post there so that they can have some input.

I lost one of my snakes way back when I had them. I just turned down the heat (not to low) and made an area that was warmer than the rest of the room (used a heating blanket) he was there a day later.
You could also try just looking in warm places (that is if you don't live somewhere really warm)

A snake will often follow the closest wall to where it escaped. Find that wall, and look all around it....under sofas, in closets, etc. Making a warm area with a hide box will also work a lot of times. Look high and low, you will be suprised how well a stocky little ball python can climb. Also look around dishwashers, under refridgerators, etc. Bo

err this sucks, im worried cuss my roommates turn the heat off at night when im not looking so it gets down to the 50's, I have a space heater in my room that keeps "my room" 75-80 so i hope he didnt leave my room

Bo covered about everything I would have said. I have had good luck with taking a large beach towel and wadding it up and tossing it in a corner of the room and check it often. They tend to go into the towel as a hide and they feel secure. CHECK EVERYWHERE !!anywhere dark or warm. It truly is amazing where they can get to. They are nocturnal so he may be out and about after it gets dark.
I wish you the best of luck. I know the worry you can go thru from loosing a pet snake. I have gone thru this more times than I care to think about.

Here's two other suggestions.
If your snake is a male, find someone or go to a local pet shop and get some papers from the bottom of a female's cage and put them in a box with a hole in a dark corner (if it's a female, it's a LOT tougher...ask any guy who's been to a singles bar)
The 2nd suggestion is to get a 5 gallon bucket and cut a hole in the center of the lid and simply place a mouse inside and he should end up there in no time....the surest route to a snake's heart is through it's stomach.
