LOL, they probably di dnot build ti but ordered it for you, and I could name that wholesaler
but, they domake good systems and the parts are all the same, same xp2400 processor same 40gb hard drive and so on(for example).
anyhow, congrats on the new system, definitely is gonna run better than the other you had,I am sure. ENJOY.
ps, the xp200 processor is much more capable and faster than the 933, not just 2x(ALTHOUGH THE MHZ IS MERELY DOUBLED), you will see. it can run more applications much more comortably too.

for the past week or two my comp has been screwing up.
For one thing, it resets automatically for no reason and the monitor turns off automatically when this happens. It wont turn back on unless i press the reset button. The computer makes a wizzing noise for a second and i hear a click like its loading up.
it happens the second time, except the monitor doesnt turn off but this blue screen occurs:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer...
blah blah blha
0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0x804ED91, 0XF118870C, 0X00000000)
Begining dump of physical memory (physical memory dump complete)
-Then when i start up the computer after the memory check, it says CPU has overspeed.
when i start up the computer, went into the bios and then i lowered the cpu speed from 166 to 100 but it just happened again today. CRAPPPPPPPPPPPPP
its been happening a lot lately. Scanned for viruses, defragged the computer.. NOTHING
also, my comp froze, i couldnt move anything including the mouse, even the num or cap locks wouldnt light on or off when pressed .. happend twice
Hoping if you guys know anything about this so i can pinpoint the problem. This happens randomly, but it happens often enough(once everyday). Drivers are updated also.
You guys recommend any checks or websites and such I can do. Any ideas... anything:confused:
thanks guys once again

:( You didnt happen to use a registry cleaner or some kind of enhancement lately have you. This happend to me when I first started out. I eventually had to wipe out my hard drive and do a clean install of Windows XP and my motherboard install cd. If I remember your thread correctly you purchased your PC, so you probably are going to have to take it back for repairs. It sounds like your sys is unstable, if you keep on having these problems reoccur.

the resetting, does it like go to sleep but wont wake up??
if so, check your power settings and make sure hibernate is disabled
as for the blue screen, it is a hardware prob, which may simply be setting or a driver issue. May need a reload to correct
as for the settings, it sounds like you have a good idea where to look, but to tell you what all to set in the bios would be difficult. I would start by loading failsafe defaults and set a few others from there. as for the cpu speed. Is there a by hw or auto seting? if so, set it to that. or 133. any dip switches on the mobo? that you could also check, changing a bios seting for them could be a prob if there is a switch that also needs set too.
I would go into the bios and load failsafes, then tweek a few that i know neeed set, like disable onboard sound and such which you wont use(just an example) Then I would reformat and reload.

is that windows xp??
if so, dos can be a bit finicky to run or load from
if it is hardware, it very well could be a driver issue, which MANY warranties wil not cover, so you may wish to investgate first. If you wish further assistance, i awill be ehre off and on tonight. just let me know. It aint always easy, but it can be waded through, if you have the patience and initiative, esp with a new OS and or hardware. I often have glitches that need to be straightened out, but then again, I am constantly upgrading my system too.
anyhow, if you want a hand, lemme know.

Hmm it sounds like somthing is wrong with the mobo which one did u get ?? it should not do that after formatted. But just return it and have them fix it or replace it should not cost you anything.

well, I have to wonder about the video card
but, I am willing to bet it works now. generally if a vid card is not seated right, you get NO picture. but, with computers just liek sw fish anything can happen.
Even if it was teh prob, don't blame them, it does happne, they just seat in there. and often work loose a little, just by jarring, like moving in a vehicle.
