OT... need your prayers...

My 18 month old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia yesterday morning.
There is a 90%+ success rate for this type of leukemia (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). That's encouraging but of course when you are talking about the life of your child, anything less than 100% is truly terrifying.
And it's a long road for her, with 2 years and 1 month of chemo treatments ahead. We are really lucky to live in the Boston area, with some of the best oncology specialists in the world.
She begins her chemo tonight. It's amazing how much the world has changed in 48 hours. This time on Friday I was 'stressing' about getting all my Christmas shopping done. Now I just want to laugh because I thought THAT was important.
Those of you with kids, please hug them extra tight tonight and know how blessed you are that they are healthy. And please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

oh god.....how your world had to be rocked! I could never imagine. My son has been hospitalized several times for severe asthma attacks and the fear of god was set upon us. I always wished I had it instead of him. BUT, this is truly something someone could only understand unless we walk in your shoes. Please accept my prayers for you and your child......she will probably truely amaze you with her strength in this.

My best friend and roomate at the time was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer... mantle cell lymphoma. He is alive and well today 3 years later and the cancer is in total remission. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. If there is anything that I can do just ask....God bless.

Katy, your daughter will be in my prayers from here on out. My wifes good friend has a son that was diagnosed with leukemia right after birth. The good news is that it is about a year later and he is doing wonderful. I hope you all have a great Christmas.

It's very sad that these types of things happen to the very young & innocent. We will keep you, your family and your daughter in our prays as well. May God be with you.
What is her name?
