Ok. Hey Plum, is that street sweeper NYPD issue?
Cause, when I attempted the police thing, down here they only get Remington 870s. Being from NY, I know things tend to be a little rougher up there.
But, that thing is seriously bad-a$$.
Now, as I was saying about the AR.
I am really trying to figure out what to do. I would like a pre-ban, but those things are waaaaaay too expensive I think compared to what you can do for the money.
There is no real need to go full auto with an AR, because they are so amazingly accurate you don't need to spray your target.
My friend has one, and another friend I work with just got the Bushmaster A2 20 inch. We set up targets and with a 30 round clip, you can fill each target no problem without using auto. No need for it, so that kind of nixes pre-ban. Sure, you can trick it out more with the bayonet lug, the real tele-stock (which I want) and other things. But, to pay 2 grand for one is madness.
Soooo, like I said above, I am looking at the 16 inch Bushmaster A2 shorty AK. The AK is for the AK-style muzzle brake on the barrel. Apparently, what I have gathered is that the AK muzzle brake is the best one to get. I hear it cuts down recoil by 70 percent. This is definitely one point I want to investigate. Because, if the AK brake is not all it's cracked up to be, I want one that looks cooler.
And since the post-ban tele-stocks are fixed, I am probably going to go with the shorty's regular stock. It has the trap-door which is more feasible and useful to me than a fixed telestock.
I am probably leaning to the A2 model because it saves a good bit, but you can also mount optics on it pretty easily.
Bushmaster seems like the best way to go. I hear Colt is overrated for what you pay, and their customer service is absolutly horrible.
Whereas, Bushmaster is extraordinarily reliable. The military has several contracts with them. And the service is exceptional.
I don't want to mess with those either up-and-commers, or cheap ones like Armalite or DPMS. If I am dropping this kind of dime, I want the real deal.
NOW:
I hear mini 14s are just as good, reliable, and fun as ARs but don't cost near as much. This is one option. But, I think I may like the AR a lot more. I do a lot of camping, hunting, etc so I need a rifle that I can beat up without worrying. I know .223s aren't really acceptable for most hunting, but ARs are super fun.
So, please, help me figure this out. Thanks y'all. I hate tough decisions like this. Any more testimonials, accounts, and info you have would rock. Thanks!
