OT: pop up blocker

Can anyone tell me of a good pop up blocker, I am about to go out of my mind with all these pop up's

By a router from Best Buy. 29.00. It also has a firewall for security purposes. Best 29.00 I spent on the PC

i have a netgear router, i still get pop-ups, not as often but i still get them. do you Austin?

I have a netgear router (FVS318) with firewall built in and I have no popups. I only use the router firewall, I don't use the computer's. That way I can still keep my network open.

My friend just got a brand new mac and they get popups... Do you have a firewall?

I get a couple now and then, but its better than 20-25 a day! It was really getting out of hand.

Have you configured your router to have any open ports? With a firewall router, you should be able to block ALL incoming requests. I have not yet had a router that would allow a popup.

my netgear is an RP614 i have not messed with the config. this is all new to me i just did what the directions said on the box. technology is getting out of hand!

Yep, that probally had something to do with it. I like to think that its just because its a mac though lol

I use AdSubtract Plus and it works GREAT!!! Pop up ads?? What are those? It's been so long since I've had to deal with them that I've nearly forgotten what they look like! Pop unders? Gone! Messenger service? Gone! Useless ads loaded onto web pages? Gone!

Norton security package seems too work very well with little or no ads getting by.

go to www.zdnet.com and do a search for NO ADS, I have been using it for over a year, and it works great. so well infact that i have gotten quite a few friends at school to use it. I also put it on every office machine that i configure. and every PC i have built since.
