Man, I could never kill a deer but ill sure as heck eat one :)
How do you kill with a bow? I would think if you didn't hit them right they could bolt and slowly die....

and last .....sorry, I'm just as much an addict for antlers as I am for saltwater. This is my shed antler pile. A great spring hobby. Please other people post pictures on here besides Melody and myself so I don't feel so weird.

The biggest challenge with hunting with a bow is getting close enough to get a good shot. I do alot of wildlife photography which is just as challenging. You have to get just as close, but have to frame everything, and have good lighting. I tried the bigger tank theory on my wife already. Sort of a sore subject. I think she is starting to realize just how much money I have spent.
Here is my big tank, or atleast what is on top of it. I taxidermied it myself, and need to finish it, but thats where it hangs. Thats one way to make a big tank look small.

Well I must say I am surprised to see this post.
I think this maybe an American thing, desensitised to it. In England hunting is about to be banned for being barbaric and unnecessary, not that I want to open a debate on it.
I just think this post is slightly inappropriate to share in the delights of a bloodsport on an unconnected forum. I also think, unlike your family, that some people are very prone to upsetting pictures of dead animals and that this is not the place to be doing it. I would not come and post pictures of an abatoir.
Hope no offence is caused but I think that we should carefully consider what pictures we post in this forum.
Tim.

Hi Melody,
Im going to resist the urge to enter a debate on hunting, I think that is just something Americans are different to Europeans on, or vice versa.
I just think that this is the wrong platform to post those pictures, personally im not particularly offended I am just thinking of others who might be.
All the best,
Tim.

Tim - when you have deer over populating your country because your past generations have chased off almost all predators then you might understand. My greatest fear is hitting a deer - we see them all the time - they even roam our back yard regularly - having said that - no need to hunt - but nice pictures if you are into that sort of thing.
Claw - should change your name from CLAW to GASTON - you know from beauty and the beast - reminds me of that part in the song where he sings - I use antlers in all of my decorating .....

Nice Collection Claw! I tried bow hunting once but I have two left feet or something. I prefer long rage rifles;).

Gee Tim, I didn't mean to upset you. I don't think I have ever seen any OT subjects on here before. I'm glad I'm breaking new ground in that arena. I figured if I was up front and posted Kill Shots, that those with a free mind and wanted to opt out would. I think I even asked if anyone would be offended. I'm sure I even posted tasteful pictures. If you would like me to e-mail you some blood shots let me know. I don't want to enter a debate on hunting with you, but I can quarantee that if I shoot, I don't miss, and when I send that arrow at over 300 feet persecond through the heart, the animals are expired before they know what hits them. They are then treated with the utmost respect and completely harvested and enjoyed by several families. I believe this to be a much more peaceful death than starving due to overpopulation, and death do to disease for the same reason, or as a hood ornament at sixty mph, or slowly killed and eatin' alive by coyotes.........
For those of you who enjoy hunting, I hope you enjoy the pictures. For those of you who are against it, I didn't intend to offend you, but could you allow those of us that are interested to enjoy it.

Hi The Claw,
I think its just a clash of cultures perhaps, and If my comments seem wierd or offensive, i too apologise :).
I was not aware of the deer situation in the US, over here they are endangered and it is illegal to hunt them, hence my original stance on the subject! I think as long as the people who are doing it are sensible and responsible (as you seem to be) then I have little quarral.
Oh one thing waterfaller1, couldnt resist, but what makes America go around doesnt necessarily make the world go around ;)
All the best,
Tim.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I'll post an updated picture of myself next to the moose. (I'll be the fresh headmount.) When my wife finds out that instead of cleaning the house, I was posting pictures of the mess on the internet. It was nice knowing all of you.

Sorry The Claw-
I have recieved a few too many emails about people becoming uncomfortable about the photos in your thread......they don't offend me personally, but I have to try to keep as many people happy as I can.......I think that we had enough time to take a look at your steak shots. :) Thanks for understanding. :)
