Well, I don't need a link for terrorism that just affects the US. Terrorism is a global problem, and as the leader of the free world, it is, IMO, our responsibility to do what we can to ensure terrorism doesn't happen anywhere. A policy of isolation is not what's best for the US, or anyone else who desires to live free.
UN Reslotion 1441 does not require that the UN find any weapons, it requires Iraq provide PROOF that IRAQ destroyed them. This resolution passed unanimously. To date, Iraq has provided ZERO PROOF it has destroyed it weapons. Please read the resolution at www.un.org.
This is not a global proclomation that we should attack everyone, and certainly diplomacy is a necessary step, but when a nation essentially gives the finger to those charged with keeping the peace, there need to be consequences, or that body becomes irrelevant.
If I were to get a speeding ticket and not pay it, I would face a bench warrant, so I would probably pay it. If there were no bench warrant, would I pay it? Probably not because I'd really like to have that money for other things.
Iraq is one place that has had 12 years!!!! to change its ways, and it hasn't. There are other nations that are also in need of attention, and they are getting our attention, and I'm confident we'll deal with them as needed to.
I also feel confident we could locate every drop of chemical and biological weapons we have in this country.
This was posted just today in regard to Saddam Hussein's use of chemical weapons againt people within the borders of
Iraq:
