A lot of people get pets on impulse. The chances of being able to keep a puppy alive after an impulse buy is almost 100%, but to keep a saltwater pet after an impulse buy is almost 0%, if you don't know what you are doing.
Agreed.

They were dumb as a brown brick, right? Just kidding. It takes a lot to be a parent and there are a lot of people who completely fail. Turn on the news or talk to a drug addict at school for a few minutes and then you'll be thankful that your parents were able to raise you right.

Anyone can raise a cat, and I mean anyone. As long as you provide it a bowl with food, water, and a place to *ahem* they don't need anything else. They come for affection because they want it, not because they need it. It's not like how dogs need affection at least. Heck, you can just let a cat roam your yard and it can fend for itself, at least if you have enough property.
What do ya'll think?

I don't know who the dumb one here is, me or the cat owners, but I hate owners who let their cats roam free only to crap in my yard. You can't shoot them. And their crap really stinks, no matter how deep they bury it.
I have to agree that it does take a lot to keep a SW aquarium alive and thriving. Much more difficult than keeping other pets. But I wouldn't call other pet owners dumb.

There are uninformed people that own all animals. I've seen some huge idiots keeping sw tanks, yeah they don't look good and stuff dies a lot but not really that different in other animals. I see it all the time, bald ferrets on craigslist whose owners have no clue their pet has been dying of cancer for months and instead think it's cute. Bird owners feeding nothing but seeds and table food, iguanas in unheated cages being fed lettuce. The animals are still suffering for the owners ignorance, they're just harder to kill so it's not so noticeable.
Even cats and dogs if you do some research into them you might realize you didn't know half as much as you thought. I didn't realize my cat had food allergies until I researched, just blindly trusted the vet making huge profits off me buying Science Diet corn crap and the cat puking twice a week because of it.
