Choerodon fasciatus (harlequin tuskfish):

This is a 1.5" juvenile specimen from Australia. It will lose this coloration and take on the familiar orange/white/blue at around 3" or so. It's not a scorp, but this fish has always been a "future fish", and will go into the 210 once it grows enuff. Every time we peek in on this fish we can't help but say "Oh...da CUTE!!!!!"
Erosa erosa
(pitted stonefish):

We were "gifted" a second specimen of this fish (shown) which is about 1" larger than the other specimen. Here it is, doing what it does best...chillin' in the sand.

Ohhhhhhhhh the tuskfish is adorable. I didn't know what a juvenile looked like. I have never seen one in a book or online. Did you know he was gonna be so cute? Good luck and congrats on both the new fish.

Yeah...he was on a WYSIWYG site, so we saw it. The deciding factor was that the fish is a tiny juvie and you don't see them this small very often. We love growing our fish up from babies (we've actually passed on some nice lionfish because they weren't juvies).

Thanks for the kind words...the pic of the tusk is actually a bit "soft" as the fish is a swimmer (typical wrasse), and the lighting in the tank wasn't conducive to shooting at a higher shutter speed to completely stop the motion.

make me miss my crazy orange gulf fish (which ate my lunare wrasse which then killed him by choking on it..ugh)
