Outdoor Mangrove "Tank"-possible??

OK...I have a crazy idea...
I live in Miami, and was thinking about setting up an outdoor mangrove tank. something like a 50gal+ Rubbermaid type tub or acrylic tank with sand or miracle mud as a substrate for the mangroves, with live rock, and lots of invertebrates, cukes, sponges maybe some small snapper etc...the idea is to create or replicate an outdoor mini-lagoon with natural light.
I'd place it in a sunny part of my terrace, place a few powerheads to circulate the water, would I need a skimmer and WD filter?
Is this possible? anybody have any experience with this??
Ideas, Pics, schematics are all welcome!!

Were you planning on putting fish in it?
It sounds like a cool idea but IDK, I think temperature regulation would be difficult.

you would have to protect it from the rain 1/2 inch of rain fall would plunge your salinity and kill your inverts (but probably wouldnt hurt the mangroves) also you would have to watch your evap closely in hot weather as too much evaporation will spike your salinity causing just as many problems. temperature controll would be nearly impossible, have you ever felt how hot a bucket of water can get sitting in the sun.

Yeah, the temp regulation would be an issue, I may just set it up with Mangroves and no fish, I would have to test frequently and check on placement....It's a cool project, I just need to hash out the details, thanks for the replies, keep them coming!

hmm only thing comes to mind is "Animals"
a swooping bird will dive in.
i've herd of it many times on out door tanks allso cats aswell if theres a hole they can break crafty animals.
also insects/bugs can go through cracks.
i personally would keep it inside tank.
