I would like to know if it would be possible to have an aquarium on my coverd back porch? It is a 55 gallon tank and i only want fowlr in it. Also, would i need any lighting other than the sun?
I have thought of doing the same thing. Just not sure I think the direct sun might be a problem. My porch gets western sun and I have to clear it out getting ready for a hurricane.
I think you will end up fighting huge algea problems even if the sunlight is being shaded and not directly on the tank. Thats just my opinion though from minor experiences and not a proven fact.
i was thinking of just putting a banded moray eel and some other agressive fish in the tank, then just some small feeder fish. any ideas as to what fish would go good with the eel. its a 55 gallon tank.

The porch has a roof on it, and i am in the process of screening it in.
ok, that works! if you do end up setting one up outside that would be very cool and if you do could you post some pics
thanks
good luck
theres a guy on a different board with a 2.5 gallon sunlight pico tank. He keeps a clam in it and the tank is doing really well. No other light besides the sun, his is indoors though but set up at a window and he does run a chiller
