Outside Tank

I have an experimental tank outside of my house.
Do not worry, I am no fish killer for it only has LR, snails and a few Hermit Crabs.
Its around 60 Gallons.
Every other day I leave it uncovered for the entire day so that the sunlight could go in threw the top. The sides are covered.
I know sunlight causes algae, and that problem seems to be taking care of with a huge Bio Ball homemade filter I made.
Ever since my water is clear and the sides of the tank do not get a bit of green on them, before that it was all green.
WHAT I AM REALLY LOOKING FOR is, what I do not know, what else can the sun do? Harmful or benifitial.
Is rainwater really bad, because some leaks in sometimes?
I know I would need a chiller if I want to keep fish there, but I don't look foward to keeping fish in there, for I have enough room in my other tanks, but I may try one day if I need to experiment on a fish.
IF IT IS CONVINIENT, I will experiment on a fish or fish behavior or if 2 certain fish get along with each other for other board members in that tank.
So let me know, about my outside experimental tank..

There are large coral farmers that use outside tanks, so it can be done. I wouldn't let rainwater leak into the tank, depending on what the rain has picked up you could be contaimanating your tank with polluntants.

Yeah, I'd like to get into growing, breding, etc. coral and stuff of that catagory one day.
That makes things prettier and saves the earth..
Nice and effective, anyone else can help with this THREAD>.

Id say a UV filter will help you out ALOT in killing the algae spores.. Home Depot also sells "netting" that will repel a certain amount of light, they have all kinds,30%, 50%, 70%, etc.

Thanks, ohh no, im not having an Algae problem.
But I will go to home depot and look for that.
Do you think Plexi Glass is good
and it is not good if I don't let any air sneak in right.
Well now to something new, what corals or do you know that are easy to bred or duplicate or grow....
I want to do something productive with my experimental tank.l
What fish are easy to have babies to breed.
