Over Skimming

I need to know your opinions on over skimming. Can it be done? I am upgrading my skimmer from a bak pak to a euroreef ES6-1. It is rated for a 100gallons. Is it possible to overskim a 46 reef with this skimmer.

You know, I am the wrong person to ask, but I have a skimmer rated for 200 gallons on a 55...I just keep the flow down a little lower, and I have had no problems.
I think if you skim too much though, you can drag out a lot of nutrients and trace elements that are actually needed by the corals...but I am sure you can control this by proper settings of the skimmer.
I'll bump it, and hopefully someone more experienced can tell you.

I dont belive you can overskim your tank. Well unless you had an enormously tall skimmer on a small tank. Then mabee it is posibble.

Jarvis is right IMHO. Unless you have a skimmer rated for 200 gallons on a 5 gallon tank, you should be fine. I persoanally turn mine off for about two full days a week. (Sun & Wed. when I feed w/plankton)
