I went to Lowes yesterday to get materials for my overflow box, but I wasn't confident enough with what I was about to do, so I didn't get anything I went home and thought some more about the design.
This is what I'm looking at doing... I'm trying to fit it in the back corner of my 44g pent tank, so I'm making it triangular. Water will flow into the overflow box, then be syphoned into an second box on the back side of the tank. The water fill flow over a small divider (about half the height of the box), then down PVC into the sump.
Here's a "drawing". Am I on the right track with this?
The best I could find at Lowe's was "high impact" acrylic, 3/32" thick. I was told to use 1/8" acrylic... should I keep looking or is 3/32 close enough? I haven't check at Home Depot yet... they may have the 1/8 thickness.
