Overflow question

As you may know from other posts, im trying to get a 225g DT. I seem to be getting different answers from each different maker. Ive gotten 4 answers about overflows:
1) 1 big internal overflow in the middle
2) 2 internal overflows in the corners (better to be in corner)
3) 2 internal overflows but offset from the corners (better than in corners)
and finally , to really confuse me!!!!!
4) 1 or 2 EXTERNAL overflows, i didnt even know they built custom tanks with external overflows but this guy told me that 90% of the new tanks he builds are external and that is what everyone is doing now.
Which do you guys recommend and why????? Please help a lost and confused smalltanker!! :help: :help:
p.s.-i plan on having a reef with lots of lps, a few sps and maybe a clam or 2.

I believe I've mentioned this already in your other thread...there are numerous options available and each can be very effective. The choice you make is up to you and will depend on what you feel will work best in your application.

ok

Is it at least true that most new custom tanks are being built with external overflows?? I havent seen or heard this talked about much??
Its hard to know what will work best in my application when i dont know what each ones pros/cons are

this guy told me that 90% of the new tanks he builds are external
This part I can believe...and you can too...
The part about "everybody" doing it is a bit harder to swallow...
Any or all of the above are fine (as long as they are sized correctly and drain as planned) The corner, off corner, center, location has more to do with "Your" plans for aquascaping and supplemental flow devices than what is "best"...depends...
Single output, double output, multiple output...Water starts here and flows there... or there and there...or starts here and here and flows there...
Your choice...
Also part of the equation for overflow location is location of the tank...View from front only, front and sides... three sides..Four sides...??
Its hard to know what will work best in my application
So what is your application...?
The "Pros" for yours may be "Cons" for someone else...

All things being equal, which you are saying they basically are, i guess id rather have external if i can handle the tank being off the wall 8 inches.
I guess it isnt true that offset or corner internals can leave dead spots? ( 1 place said corners do, 1 said offset do)
I want a reef, so i need at least 15x turnover, 1 place i talked to said 2 overflows is better for reef, the other said 1 middle with 2 returns is better for reef? :notsure:
It will be viewed from the front and sides, what else can i tell you to help?
Like i said, even after reading alot of your archives squidd, im pretty lost, there are SO many choices. I want it right the first time and dont want to wish i did something different this time next year.
