overflow question

I just got 2 1 and 1/2 inch holes drilled into my 90 gallon today and I want to set up a reef system. Should I get a mag drive 1200 or 1800? will it be too much flow with the 1800 for smaller fish? And how big of a sump tank should I use...bump
