Also it dont matter about the skimmer. The skimmer is a pos a seaclone 150. I plan on getting another skimmer. I will use the pump a max jet1200 as a power head in the dt with the t hooked to it. It might throw an air bubble or 2 from time to time but I dont see it being that bad. That is if it works that is we will see soon.

Well looks like you were right skimmer barly worked unless you had the air open almost all the. But then if you shut of the power the air leaks back into the overflow and causing it to loose prime. I also tried the pump as a power head put instint micro bubbles. So looks like it is a new overflow and new skimmer. I think I will still use the mj1200 as a power head seems to be good with a few more power heads of course. Well looks like I have to wait to pay day and try again. Well maybe not I will go to home depot to get the aqua lifter pump. I am sure it will work long enough to get another overflow down the road. Use what I got and upgrade soon. Thanks natclanwy you were a huge help should have listened to you in the beginning would have saved me a hole day

I pushed the wrong botton there but yeah send me a link or something but ut was not a total waste of time I did find they have base rock there for 1 dollar a pound. Mainly because florids is a coral rock bed so very cheap here. I did not buy any but maybe later.I will just buy a better over flow and not spend any more money than I have to.

Careful with U-tube style overflows too though, If your sump return pump isn't pushing up enough water air bubbles can form at the top of your u-tubes and cause the same siphon breakage issue...
