Overflow/Sump/Fuge Help

I think i got this right now.
Overflow is just the tube that will take the water down and out of the tank, right? The water goes down to the sump and the to the fuge and back to the tank.
My thing is i want to go from the sump to the fuge (30G or so) and make the fuge a Reef tank. (My fuge would be a show tank as well right next to my big tank which i hope would be around 150G) Is that recommend it? To have a fuge be a reef tank? I know the reef tank needs those special additives daily but what if i added to the total water volume of the three tanks. :notsure: Expensive might get, i know. Also i know how some people just have a DSB, and LR for filtration, and a skimmer. Would i need my Bio-wheel power filter (Which i hope to hide in the sump along with the heaters, Would the heaters heat the water evenly if kept there?) if my base rock is comprised of only 25 LBS of LR (Either Marshall or Caribbean, Maybe Fiji) and the rest seeded base rock and aragocrete. My DSB would be around 5-6"
That's all i can think of for now, if i forget anything that i need for guidance don't be afraid to yell at me and your help and constructive criticism is welcome.................

that's it...basically, check this out,http://www.melevsreef.com/what_sump.html

nope, it would just build up nitrates over time.

if you got time you can seed base rock with live rock, 3-4 months i believe. that's what i'm planning on doing when i get rolling soon. marshall rock rules:D
do some searching around about DSB, some say good, others say bad...typical in this hobby:rolleyes:

You could use your refuge for a display...most however, keep macro algae in it, so usually they are not too attractive...
Centralized heating would work fine as long as you have adequate sized heaters.
You could keep your bio-wheel in there as well. I think at that point though, it wouldn't be a refuge more so then it would be a sump.
Oh and...bio-wells don't build up nitrates...

the fuge and the sump would be separate, Sump on the bottom and the fuge (reef tank) on the top. What i'm wondering could my fuge be a reef tank or not?

so u basically want to know if your fuge can have LR and corals and fish and stuff like that??

Well technically NO...
When you start adding coral and inverts and fish and the waste produced is greater than the waste processed it just becomes another tank.
The purpose of a fuge is to process the water from the main tank...a type of filtration...a safe place to grow macros and pods and worms, things that will help in the breakdown of organic material.
The needs and setup of a "fuge" and a "reef" tank are quite different and to combine the two would compromise the optimization of each.

Actually you HAVE figured a way to have a reef tank...
Now you just have to figure another way to have a "Fuge"...
Think RubberMaid...tubs...out of sight below tank...
