Do you have a U tube? Take a small air hose and stick it half way up the tube with the over flow box full, suck until the air bubbles are gone and you have flow. Once you have flow, turn on your return pump. I hope that this helps you.

i got it to work i just had a pump problem i dont know if it was cause the pump was to powerful or not but the pump was sucking to much water so i had to stop it cause it almost got everywhere it just was leaking water rght around the tank but there are 2 holes for the pump so i figured if i open them both then it will cut down on the water being returned

Your overflow box that is inside the tank has an adjustment wingnut and you can raise or lower the level in your display tank. I don't understand. Is your wet/dry or sump over flowing or your display tank?

There should be an adjustment

or wingnut that allows you to move the box up or down. The lower you move the box the lower the tank level. You need to make sure you have flow going to your sump thru the utube. If you lower the box it should be able to handle the flow, if not you may have to put a ball valve on your return line to the tank. Let me know how it goes.
