I got a great deal on an ETSS Skimmer by AETech. It's rated 4 tanks 120-400 gal.... At present I only have a 55 (plan on upgrading to a 120 with in the year). There is not such thing as too much skimming is there??

Wild. i dont know man...LOL your fish are probably going to be fighitng for the point farthest point from the return though HAHA what a sight that would be....Your probably going to pull too much water through, waisting skimmed water...even though you will be removing EVER bit of protien in the tank. It depends on what type of system you have too. Is it fish only(light load/Heavy Load)? Reef? if its a reef, sometimes protiens are essential....all depends. I'd say "OVERKILL! - Metallica"

it wont be overkill. just buy it and you can use it on the new tank when you get it.

"Combo reef Tank Return from Skimmer goes too Sump"
oh cool, are you returning the water from the sump to the tank at a the same rate the skimmer is pulling water off the tank?

Actually, I think the Skimmer is running at a much greater turnover then the sump.
Skimmer pump at ~1100gph
Sump return ~800gph
