Ok. Please rip up and tell me what EVERYONE thinks about the idea of doing a nano with this tank and this light in mind, if its even possible.
A piece of live rock, probably brazil, and maybe a 1-2 corals. In this. and Don't hold back. If Stupid, then say so.
the tank: (a pasted ad)
MiniBow 2.5 Starter Aquarium Kit
If you thought they couldn't make a desktop aquarium kit with built-in filtration and lighting any smaller, think again: this 2.5 gallon starter aquarium shares the same great features as the MiniBow 5, and also includes an easy-to-install divider to create two separate living areas for bettas (housing two together increases coloration; divider prevents aggression). For better coloration, replace the included bulb with a powercompact screw bulb. Please specify: Rose, Teal, or Purple. 1-13⁄8" x 7-3⁄4" x 14-1⁄8" high.
the LIGHT for it:
This is a great replacement bulb for upgrading your small aquarium. 10W Mini Compact fluorescent bulb fits many standard incandescent aquarium hoods and strip lights, generating the equivalent light output of 50 Watts. 6500°K bulb promotes live aquatic plant growth, while enhancing fish coloration and lasts 6 times as long as an incandescent bulb, produces less heat, and uses less energy. Measures 5" long.

This can be done, but your coral availability with the supplied lighting will be limited. There are some threads that describe this size tank. Do a search for 2.5 and you should get some applicable threads.
You probably wouldn't have a problem keeping mushrooms and possibly a leather (not sure on leathers and softies, but from my understanding they don't need much light; hopefully someone can elaborate on this)
As long as you can keep good water quality and constant temp this isn't an unheard of undertaking.
Hope this helps a little,
Gator

yeah I agree with gator - the light and size limit your inhabitants ..... maybe a shrimp of some sort to go along with some shrooms. Think a tank like that woudl rock!
