Packaged saltwater?!?!?

ok i was on one of thoese pet websites that sell things and i saw this Catalina Water Company Real Ocean Pure Natural Seawater ok so they say its saltwater with Phosphate free. Nitrate free. pH balanced at 8.3 they say all u have to do is add water.... so now im wondering is this real????? and if u get this do u have to cycle? im just :notsure: .. helppppp

I would do a full cycle even with packaged saltwater. For my small 20g tank at the office I use the same package saltwater you are talking about with great success. They claim to filter all the bad stuff out of it before packaging and selling. The easy to pour spout and crystal clear water seems to me like a pretty good product. I pick it up locally for about 10 bucks for 5 gallons.

how long can u keep it because i tought u have to use a powerhead to keep the water moving?

i use a different brand of packaged seawater. nutri-seawater. it works great. wish i could buy it for less than 15 bucks for 4.4 gal!
and it will probably still go through a cycle, even if that's the only water you use. i just helped a friend set up a tank using it, the live rock was mostly cured, but it did cycle somewhat.
