I have a 90g tank and I'm wondering what I should do with the back? I hate backgrounds and I've heard of people painting the back. Is this a good idea and if so what kind of paint? thanks

Any kind of water resistant paint will work..It doesn't even have to be gloss,as you will be viewing it through the glass(this will make it appear glossy)...But why do you hate backgrounds??? Is it the photo background you hate?? If so,they are avan]lible in solid colors..I only use self adhesive background..It's alot less work and mess than paint!!!

Yes it is the picture backgrounds I hate I will probably try to find a solid one. Thanks for the advise.

I have a 90 reef that I purchased pre drilled and prepainted, it was done with a rustoleum blue, and it really helps to accent the blue actinic light.

i painted mine and when you look at it from the back it looks really bad but then when you get a light in front of it looks great. Go to you lfs and look at thiers i bet they are all painted.

Hey Ren,
Your VHO's look so good on your 100 gallon tank.
Love that color, and perfect example for others to see VHO lighting.
Like the 3 pics
1) Daylights only
2) Actinics only
3) Combination of both
Nice !
Backgrounds - I use the solid black or blue.
