What kind of paint should I use to protect my wooden canopy from moisture and salt build up?

Inside of my canopy,I used a good primer, and pretty much any quality EXTERIOR paint will be fine. Think how much abuse , exterior house paint has to put up with.

Polyuerthane does work great...but it is a clear coat I believe. I used White exterior ....for reflective purposes in my hood. If you are not concerened with reflectivability ( is that even a word ) then Polyuerathane would be great.

Would regular white paint with a couple coats of polyurethane over it work? Is polyurethane work better than exterior paint?

I dont think you can put polyurethane over latex or oil based paint. It is usually used over wood that has been stained,or to seal raw unstained wood.

Yeah Poly is clear, but you get very little reflectiveness from the white and no reflectors anyways.....I love just seeing natural wood....
