pairing maroon clown experiment

since we upgraded to a bigger tank we decided to try to pair our maroon clown with a baby gold stripe maroon. boy was that a BAD idea. our bigger maroon tormented the little baby all day, he ended up having every fin torn up and bitten. we were finally able to catch the new clown and now he is safe in our 30 gal fish only with 2 scissortails.

I think if you remove the original maroon and added the new maroon first and leave the original in the 30 for a month or two, that might work.:thinking:

im not sure even that would help, our bigger maroon is about 4 1/2 to 5" or so, and the new baby one is no more then 1 1/2". and the bigger one just got moved into the tank a few days ago when we did the switch from our 55g. poor little guy couldnt even swim away fast enough, and when he tryed to host the big maroons hairy mushroom, that did it, it was fightin' time. at least he is in a loving tank now.
