Pale Fish

I have a blue and gold damsel in my 20 gal tank, it's the only fish in there. Over the last 10-15 minutes, he's gotten VERY pale, and very active. He seems to possibly be showing aggression toward his reflection, because he swims up and down the sides of the tank, and rubbing against it. Is this something wrong, or is it normal? I've only had the fish 4 days, but I've never seen him this active. I'd be excited, except, again, he's VERY pale, and acting aggressively. What should I do?

I'm not certain what you mean by rubbing against the glass...a fish "rubbing" is often a sign of disease like marine ich. Loss of color can also be due to disease.

He's all better today. It was wierd. He went from bright and colorful to almost white in about 10 minutes. I took my water to my LFS, and they said it was fine. PH was a tad low, but other than that, it was fine. They didn't really know what to think of my story, either. I wish I had a digital camera to get a pic of it. He seems healthy today, though, with no signs of ick. Thanks, and if you still want to post a theory, I'd appreciate the help.
