Just curious what is going on in Alaska? Last I saw Sen. Stevens was leading by one point in the election with 4% left to report.
Why would you vote in someone who was just convicted on 7 felony counts???
Could it be that if Stevens is elected, then promptly kicked out on ethics violations, the Governor of Alaska would take over= Palin still gets to Washington???

Same reason one of the local districts, the race was between a guy convicted on fraud, and the other has a DUI charge.

possible.. or she is still is the Gov. for 2 more years and runs in 2010... then runs for President in 2012 or 2016. More likely 2016... My opinion is she is very polarizing... would be hard for her to pull independents and dems...
Her challenge is to build credibility and foreign policy experience. She can't do that as Gov. Palin of Alaska...

I believe that if the senator gets convicted and kicked out of office the governor can appoint whoever they want to be the new senator, including themself. This has got to be her plan. She's gotten a little taste of the national stage and there is no way she's gonna let go now.

I posted this on the day that Palin got the VP nomination...........

I hope Bud makes a "real men of genius" commercial dedicated to McCain, because he pretty much just ended any chance he had of being president. I don't want to hear another word about Obama's "lack of experience" coming out of his mouth.

I stand by every word of that. Romney would've made the difference......as the VP nominee or as the presidential nominee. the Republicans went wrong when they had 7 different people trying to get the nominee and they took the worst of the 7 as the nominee. then, McCain kills himself by selecting Palin.
I have nothing personally against her, but I hope I've seen the last of her. she had no business being on that ticket.
I am taking a "wait and see" approach with Obama and I hope he does good and lives up to the hype. if he shoots for the center, he can. but if he tries to govern the country with Chicago politics, he'll be a one-term and out. with the problems we've got right, no one can run the country from the far left or right.
as of right now, if the Republicans have any brains in their heads, 2012 will be.......
Prez. Mitt Romney
VP Bobby Jindal
with an eye on getting Jindal as president for 2020. but that is....IF the Republicans have any brains left. if they do, then Sarah Palin won't ever sniff the White House again.

That would be a good line up or the flip.
When I see the call for Palin 2012, I can only think that ticket would be lined up like:
Palin/Quale

So...with the massive approval ratings she has in her home State....are you saying the Alaskans are idiots? Or are you saying you have no clue about true Alaskan politics because it's so far away and who gives a hoot?

What I am saying, is the same folks that voted for a convicted felon to represent their state in the US Senate are the same people that voted for Palin to be governor. Sure, I will use your word - IDIOTS...

Why would america vote for a candidate who carefully chose marxist professors as his friends and mentors?
Who thinks it is better for everyone if we ignore the results of every socialist experiment and spread the wealth?
Why elect a person who says the abortion issue is above his pay grade?
I still am befuddled, how does palin illicit such a strong stupid label from libs, but you ignore Joe Biden. How do you say palin is unqualified while electing someone who announced his candidacy 1/2 a year after being elected to the senate.
This is idiotic.

Please McCain didn't stand a chance, you can't out liberal a liberal, and that is what he was trying to do. It had nothing to do with palin. If anything Palin kept this thing half way interesting to the end.

I haven't seen you around much recently, so I can understand the generalization but I was never on that bus to begin with.

Our President Elect has proven you don't need any foreign policy experience to be President. (excuse me, be elected President)
McCain proved Moderates won't vote for a Moderate Republican.
In 4 years we'll be looking for a Conservative; She will be around for a while I'm sure.
