Panther Grouper with other fish?

I have a 250 gallon tank that I am just starting to think about setting up again. I am thinking of setting it up as an agressive tank. I want to get a panther grouper and I am not sure what all it will eat when it gets big. I wanted to get a couple of maroon clowns and I think that is the smallest thing I will be putting in there. My question is will fish the size of a maroon clown be lunch or will they be safe.

I wouldn't do it, Panther groupers can grow to over 24"!There are lots of other options that you could use, because I think that in time your panther would swollow your clowns!

was at the lfs yesterday and somone just dumped a 12 inch panther grouper in one of the tanks... no one knew how the thing got in there but it ate a 5 inch clown trigger and was chasing the larger ones in the tank..... They can eat a good size fish so i think your clowns would become a expensive lunch

I had a Panther Grouper in my 55....BAD IDEA, that 'thing' got HUGE!!! really fast!!!!. This type of grouper looks very cute when they are tiny but they are monsters and they are hungry all the time :D.

good rule of thumb....If it's small enough to fit in another fish's mouth, dont get it!!!! Unless it is a whale shark they are completely herbiverous and docile...but than again it's a whale shark!
