panther question

Is it normal for a small panther grouper to try and eat a huge peice of food and swallow it whole? Mine will take one piece that is the size of his head and leave it in its mouth and slowely suck it all down. It seems like he is completely fine with eating this way, he doesnt want to go after the smaller pieces he goes right for the big ones.

YES! Mine did the same he would swallow shrimp much larger than he could stand, it would just hang out of his mouth for awhile but he always managed to get it down eventually! Sorry to say I lost him last night due to an ammonia spike

sorry to hear that. Yeah mine just leaves it hainging out of his mouth until its gone. My dwarf lion eats everything whole too but he is much bigger and my triggers are small but they bite everything when they eat, they dont try to shove the whole thing in there mouth
