Hey guys i have a nova extreme t5 ho fixture. its great but i wanna up the light even more. i've read a lot on this and i cant seem tofind an answer. which do you think is better. a parabolic reflector *like the one that comes in teh fixture* or a mirrored reflector (i've seen ads for these they claim to increase light out put up to 50% more and ar e99% efficeint. ) if this is a real thing then i want to take advanatage of any way to increase my light output.
Thanks
Nate

I believe a highly polished or maybe even mirrored parabolic would be the best. To ask if a parabolic is better than a mirrored I would have to say.... what kinda parabolic? Individual per lamp? White reflective? Polished? Highly polished? ETC....

From my research/ experience, individual parabolic reflectors are the way to go with T5's. The SLR retrofit reflector by Icecap claims to increase the intensity by 300% more than without. I couldn't give any proof to that except that I run 5 54 watt t5's on individual reflectors and the amount of light is amazing. I also don't know if you could pull off using individual reflectors with the nova. Anyhow, good luck.
