I keep hearing a clicking noise in my tank. From what I read, possibly a mantis. I tried to look with a flashlight and low and behold!
Batteries dead. I quick put on the light. Didnt find a mantis..yet..but what the heck are those little (silvery prehistoric things about the side of a 1/4 pc of rice) running around on my liverock?! I guess its a different world in there at night. Anything? ok to have?

Did your prehistoric things look like this pic? If they did then they are just pods and good to have. They just run around looking for bits of detritus to eat.

looks to be pods running around your tank they are a good sign. the clicking sounds is either a mantis or pistol more than likely it a pistol. pistol shrimp aren't bad but mantis are if you are sure it a mantis 100% this is how you get him out. take the rock out he is in hold it over the 5gal bucket with saltwater, mix a high amount of salt and water together and squirt it in his hole it will burn him out in to the bucket then sell him. and make sure before you do it what you got.
