PARASITE OR LIL BUG OR SOMETHING IN MY TANK? O.o

i was just staring into my tank a minute ago and i see this lil thing run across the sand. like a bug or something... loooked like a silverfish bug cept it was a real light tan color (just a bit darker then my coral sand) and it had like little legs or something... rather skinny and it just ran across the sand under my live rock!
is this normal?!?!
anyone have any idea what it is or if i have to get rid of it or not?!

search for amphipod (spelling) or some sorta pod, see if that's what it is.

not exactly sure if it is an amphipod... but from pictures it looks pretty similar.
how are they good for the tank and how'd it get there?! i had my tank since january and i never noticed it until now.... and i spend a LONG time loooking at my fish everyday

they come from live rock. i dont know why theyre good i just know theyre good. some fish eat them. youd probably get a lot more information on them if you searched than asked me.

i would keep in your tank. I had a ton when i put my rock in a bucket and put the salt to 1.040. Watch everything run out! pretty cool to see stars,crabs, pods, and tons of other stuff
