I disagree. The point of probation is that you avoid the penalty for your crime, assuming you keep your nose clean. If you get in trouble again (hence violating your probation), you can, and should pay the maximum penalty for your crimes (notice the plural, as in violating the probation involves a second crime.)

is paying the penalty for the fact that she chose to drive while legally intoxicated (regardless of how many drinks it may have taken her to get there), AND for a second offense of driving with a suspended license. Doesn't sound like she paid that high a penalty to me.....
The jail time wasn't for the DUI it was for the suspended liscense. 45 days for a missed court date and suspended liscense is steep to me. I think we could fill cells with people a little more deserving than

. You do know that Murderers and rapists are on average released after only half of their sentence because the jails are so overcrowded they need the room for the "new" criminals? Does anybody care that those people are released from prison? No, but god forbid

Ok let’s look at the facts here:
She was pulled over and arrested for a DUI.
Next she was pulled over and signed a document acknowledging she is not supposed to drive on a suspended license.
Then about a month later she is pulled over again for driving with a suspended license with the document she signed in her glove box.
Ok, if it were you or I, we would have been arrested the first time we were pulled over with a suspended license. If we had been arrest a second time with a suspended license how long of a jail sentence would we get…keep in mind this is all within 6 months?

Actually, yeah. I have never received a ticket nor have I been arrested. And Im ignorant? Its a general rule that while debating you dont make assumptions. I am not sticking up for her actions she was clearly wrong. However, I dont see why it is such a big deal. Nothing she did was so outstanding that it deserves this coverage. My brother is in Iraq right now and I know SO LITTLE about what is going on over there because its old news. There are so many things that should be more important to people than this. I could care less if she spent 1000 years in prison. The fact of the matter is that A: her sentence was harsh in my opinion and im free to it and will express it and B: This is just another distraction that people for some reason cant see through. I guess ignorance truelly is bliss.

The jail time was because she broke the stipulations of her probation.... so therefore, it was for both crimes.

not to me... when you think that your money or fame gives you the right to miss a court date, you deserve everything you get.

Maybe so, but she should have to live by the same rules that you and I do, regardless of who she is.
but god forbid

If you were in the same situation, do you think YOU would be allowed to go home? NO. Why should she not be held to the same legal standards that the rest of society is held to?
