Partial Water Change help!

Hey, I recently purchased a 50 g bowfront tank. I put LR in a day ago to begin curing it, but I was reading up on information and I had read to do a partial water change about a week or so after you begin. I am a little confused as to how to do these partial water changes. Do I add more salt and water, or just fresh water since the salt does not evaporate? Could someone help me so I know what to do when it comes time to, Thanks. :notsure:

If you are replacing water which has evaporated, you just use fresh water. A water change is when you take out some of the tank water and replace it with new (aged 24-48 hrs) salt water.
I didn't do any water changes until my cycle was done....

don't do any water changes until your ammonia and nitrite levels reach 0. Water changes will only prolong your cycle and are not needed until after the cycle is completly done.
When you do daily top offs, salt is not needed in the water because the water lost is evaporated. When you do water changes, you take water out, so you will have to replace that water with water that already has salt in it.
To prepare this water, you want to get the salinity as close to possible as the display tank's, as well as the temperature, then let it sit for at least 24 hours to let the water stabilize. Then you can do the water change.
