I got my tank stand at walmart for my 55 gallon tank, and its made out of particle board. The tank is in the basement where my room is, but the basement floods a little once in a while (going to get fixed.) Did I mention the tank is full of water and sand with live rock in it, but no fish.. Anyways, the problem is when I was gone the basement flooded, my tank is on cement blocks, and carpet rug covered up the blocks... The water sucked up through the rug into the particle board of the tank about 1 inch and a half and expanded some... I cut the rug around the tank so that if it floods again, it won't catch the water. I got a de-humidifier.. I am woried that the stand will collapse, with my tank crashing to the floor with it... Should I really worry that much, and but a new stand (which would be a pain paying for a new one and having to take all the water out of my estabolished tank)??? Do you think it would collapse? It won't get any water on it again....
-That's pretty dumb for someone to make a stand out of particle board, that expands when wet. Then again I'm dumber for buying it..
