.

I guess you didn't realize the Bears had Cedric Benson as a power back, and T Jones as a changeup.....
Da Bears always play their best against 'gadget' teams like NO and Vick and now it will be Indy

by gadget teams i mean teams that use a lot of trickery and formations ,, or they have that one guy(Bush) or Vick who is multi versatile , that other teams usually have problems with...it's the teams that are straight forward ....either pounding the ball or just running 'normal' offenses that give the bears problems....not teams that use one or two trick plays a game or end arounds or reverses...but teams that almost rely on it.......Peyton does a lot of formation and audibles at the line which may play in favor of the bears....if they don't run the ball often Manning is going to see a rush that he's never seen before......
side note....bears average 46 points in the superbowl and are only giving up 10 pts a game in sb contests...

statistically i think the bears lead every major category against the colts....even though that don't mean nothing come game time

doesnt EVERY team try to "trick" the defense??? formation shifts, motion and lining players up in a position that they arent normally in is all part of the offense to get a match up that is favorable to the O and to see what type of D is coming at the O...
by your definition EVERY team is a gadget team... ESP the hard nose straight up ballers known as the Steelers... they run one or two "trick" plays a game...
ohhh and the Bears have only been in one SB... so their average is based on only that one...
what statistics are you looking at for "led the Colts"??? defensively i presume...

i know every team uses a trick play here or there but that's not what i'm talking about....
according to nfl.com both offenses are averaging 26.7 pts' a game.......i'm sure depending what you go by, it can be manipulated.....but offensively statistics for points are very similar and the defense is not even close...

I do not view Benson as a power back. Also, I would not call the Saints or ANY nfl team a gadget team. I beleive the ONLY gadget play run in the game yesterday was an end around by Chicago.
ALL teams use mutilple formations, motion, etc....even the Bears. many temas will run their "gadget" plays in the Alumni zone between the 40's. No team can survive in the nfl strictly on gadget plays. No team runs more than a handful each game. It is the element of surprise which makes them succesful. If you fail in the surprise they usally do not work and/or end in turnovers or losses. This is why nfl teams only run a handfull at most each game. many do not run any at all in a game or possibly just one.
Even the grestest show on turf could hardly be called soley a gadget team. I would not categorize ANY nfl team as a gadget team.
Indy is not a gadget tema by ANY definition.

It is a landlside for turnovers by the QB........in favor of the Bears . Not even close.

Funny how he keeps getting endorsement deals ...isn't it ?

Even repeat business for MC plus new deals from other companies. I guess others may not share your view.
HE does portray a favorbale image and good character which is why he probably keeps getting the deals. I've not verified but do not recall seing other QB's with endorsement deals and commercial appearnaces at the same level as Manning.

Well said..all teams do it today. Even defenses try and add a few new wrinkles for each game.
Atlanta could hardly be called a gadget team. Their style was simply to run a college offense on many plays..where Vick reads end contain and either hands to the back or tucks and runs. No surprise there. While somehwat non-conventional for the nfl...their is no "gadget' or "trickery".

the stats for points also include special teams and defensive scores... the Bears have some of the best special teams players in the league!!! also, undenyably one of the best defenses that causes turnovers and often times points...
as far as "gadget teams" go... Scuba summed it up pretty well...

Which team in the nfl this year soley relied on reverses, end arounds and trick plays? How many did they run each game? By relying on it you are stating they run thse plays regularly and it is the main focus point of their offense. List them out and how often they run these reverses, end arounds, half back passes, etc, etc., etc.
NO team in the nfl has an offense built like this....not even the Colts. Some may run them once, twice a game as I have previously stated.

it was a fantastic second half by Manning. I enjoyed seeing Mr WOnderful and Mr Perfect Brady throw a pic at the end when they needed him most.
Brady is still a great QB...I was just pulling for Manning. I'm glad brady proved he also is capable of the choke. Although, his playoff record is solid as it gets for a QB. I beleive that is more a reflection of the team/system/coach...but he is a solid QB.

I'd like to see Brian Urlacher Decapitate him in the first quarter then squat over his head and take a smasher right on his face. He probably got the endorsement deals because they couldn't get Brady.

Looks like someone is upset that their team is going to be sitting at home watching the Colts play in the Superbowl.
At least the Patriots have some class......many Patriot players will be rooting for Manning and the Colts.

Real class...Fortunately, Urlacher is not that type player. Brady had a few deals, but it is obvious if you hire Peyton, it must be good for profits.

Glad that classless original post got nuked. I attempted to delete my post calling it classless, but I see the mods deleted that post as well since I quoted the garbage.
Thanks for taking out the garbage.

Neither did I but I quoted the garbage. Like you, I took the high road. Once I saw the trash was nuked, I tried to edit my post but it was deleted.
it was not our words ...but the quote appearing in the response. I assume you probably quoted the words of wisdom as well.
