PC light

You can't because it's not rated for that, the ballast isn't going to support it. You could possibly blow ur ballast out. Actually, if you could, then many people would just buy the cheaper ones and put better bulbs in there.
You should check the max wattage allowed to double check though.

You could probably put one 96 watter in, but not two...unless the ballast is rated for 192 watts or more...

The Coralife Aqualight multiple lamp fixtures have one ballast per lamp. So you have 2 65W ballasts built in, and won't be able to power 96W bulbs.

midwest reefer,
I see that you are from IL. If you are really interested in going to 2x96W PC, check out my thread in the classifieds . I'll also have a 9 month old 2x96W Coralife hood (36" w/ legs) for sale in a week or so that I'll let go of for a fairly cheap price, depending on when I finish the hood for my tank. The bulbs in that fixture are 9 mos. old, but I have two spare 96W lamps w/ approx. 4 mos. wear that you could have for free. Sorry for the shameless plug in your thread, but I enjoy helping out local reefers.
Email me at robhartmann@NOSPAMameritech.net (remove NOSPAM) with any questions.
