hey all can anyone tell me what types of clams can be kept under power compacts? thanks

some people say i can (lfs) some say i can't

you can. which? i can't help you with. i would suggest you don't. as expensive as they are and as delicate as they are i would not even bother unless you can provide the best conditions for them. aside from that the ones you cn keep will get much to large for a 30 gallon.

my lfs has some deresa that are around 1 inch long so i might try it because the price is right. maybe.

if you get one that small you will have to keep the phyto way high in your tank, until its around 3 inches and starts using light for food.
your light might be ok, but halides would be better, i kept a squamy under vhos, but that was just for about 2 months

i already use DT's twice a week for all my other corals and whatnot

u can also spot feed it with a two liter bottle cut in half and put the phyto down the bottle top

i believe derasas are on of the type. buy him a nice shell so he can foot onto the shell then place the shell up near the lights. i think youll have no problems
