wow is huge i just saw it today ...is hugeeeee is like 3 times a bicolor blenny :scared:
is this good or bad ...it doesn look good for my reef i think but i better ask !!

i also saw a bernacle inside my forgsprawn ...anyone knows abot them??

I think everything really ugly is adorable. I don't know how safe he is but don't put you hand too close to him.

i think that when you see a hitchiker in your tank ..you see it in a beautiful way ....is something new in your ecosystem ....adorable....yes i thinks so ..and belive me i wont touch it...unless i start see fishes missing or corals dying....otherwise the little mantis will be doom by me!!!

I just read about this type of shrimp. They are bad news. They will eat your fish and could break your heater.

i dont know much about mantis..special tanks are required for some..i'm sure someone will chime in on that but the barnacle in the frogspawn..great pic..and harmless filter feeder..i have one also in frogspawn..and a rock full of them..good luck

Not good news for the bottom dwellers or those fish that get unlucky but you also have a few fish in there that are a threat to the mantis well being. I would try a trap to get him out (which is probably the only way its going to happen unless you take the tank down or isolate the rock he happens to be in).
In the mean time throw enough hermits and such in there to keep him well fed. You have a large tank, theres a chance he'll get some of your fish and a chance he'll never get any. I'd still be uncomfortable with him in there. If your trigger was bigger he'd definately eat that.
the barnacle, I had one in my hammer for along time. Caused no problems. then it died/disappeared and that was that.

You are one very luck reefer. Hobbist pay over $75 buck for those little guys over here. I've been on a waiting list for over 4 months.
No he is not good in a reef tank. He will eat your inverts. and your smaller fish. He may mess with your corals.
If you have an extra, small tank handy. a 15 or 20 gal will do. Set it up. All he needs is some rock. Feed him meaty foods. Silverside, bloodworms ect.
WARNING: Watch your fingers, They can slice you open!!!
You are so lucky. He is a beauty. If you don't want him, how close are you to St Louis.

dude i am stress already...i had 150 hermit crabs...4 huge cleaner shrimps , and 80 snails a few months ago...at least thats what i tought ....
well today i woke up...to try to count them up to see how many i have to keep record....and guess what

i have only 12 hermit crabs and 7 snails........and now i know the reason why 2 of my cleaner shrimps dessapear!!! :scared:

i woke up 3 times in the mourning to try to catch him...but..he is to smart....to clever!!!
he is gonna be tosted when i catch him....and i mean it!!!

i dont think you will 'catch' him. try a trap would be my suggestion, but i have never had one. good luck

damn, well I guess a trap would be your best option or maybe you can get lucky and his cave is in a rock which is easy to remove.
