Have any of you ever had a pearlscale butterfly? Are they easier to keep and how do you know if your water quality is good enough. I'm just wandering because I think they are pretty neat and my lfs is have a sale on Sunday. Any info will help! Thanks!!

Pearscale's might be harder to keep than some of the other butterfly fish. I know a guy that comes into the store I work at and he's had great success with a pearscale and saddleback in the same tank. If you want a pearscale I suggest these two options. Make sure your tank is completely cycled and the water quality is GREAT. Next, either get a pearscale that has been at your LFS for awhile and is eating or be there the day the fish comes in and if he looks healthy take him home right away before your LFS puts him into their tank. Another note, if you get a pearscale and it isn't eating, put an anenome in the tank and he will most likely eat that and get his appetite going.
